By abcommerce hosted our inaugural abcommerce ecommerce summit at the Heritage Hotel, Killenard on Thursday March 12th 2020
Our goal was to have a day of learning, knowledge sharing and networking.
The idea was to help retailers reach their online revenue targets and beyond through practical presentations by expert speakers, product demonstrations by our trusted partners and most importantly an opportunity to network with some of Ireland’s leading retailers.
We had a fantastic response from retailers and sponsors alike all of whom recognised that there was a gap in the market for a practical ecommerce summit aimed at mid sized retailers.
The summit took place the day before the Irish government closed down the schools and universities due to the Covid 19 virus, from that day retailers across the country had to take the difficult decision to close their bricks and mortar stores and never before was the knowledge and expertise presented at the summit unfortunately more relevant.
The day began with a conversation with Donal Vaughan from http://www.vaughanshoes.ie and Paul O’Hea from http://www.inishpharmacy.com, two ambitious retailers in the North West of Ireland who are always pushing the boundaries of innovation and customer service. They both told their online journey stories in conversation with Orla Cooney from Magico.
We followed with a number of expert speakers covering topics including Effective Facebook Advertising (Tristram Dyer), Power of Email Marketing (Paul McGurran), International eCommerce (Susanne Dirks), Google Shopping (John Ring) and Using Videos to sell (Garry Kelly). We also hosted a SEO Question and Answer session with John Caldwell.
Our Exhibition space was a hive of activity with stands representing our partners including Segmentify, Autoaddress, FlexiFi, FactFinder, Viatec, AIB Merchant Services, CBE, Content Llama, ECAI, Elavon, Truspilot, Nosto, Chatify and Celebros.
